Meteorology Programs

Below is a list of meteorology and atmospheric science programs across the United States. Picking the right one for you is a very important decision. If you are interested in a track in broadcast meteorology, you’ll want to have a very clear idea of the facilities and programs in place for the university you are looking to attend. The two most important things are live daily weathercasts and a professional weather graphics computer. For more on this you can check out a post I wrote about picking schools here.

I hope you find the list helpful. If you would like to tell me about your program, or a program that you know of, I’d very much like to hear from you.

  1. As of today, you can add Virginia Tech to that list. There’s no program website yet, but the degree will be available for students beginning spring 2012.

  2. The University of Missouri (Columbia) also has an atmospheric science program. I am currently in it 🙂

  3. Ohio University isn’t on this list! We offer degrees in Geography-Meteorology, Physics-Meteorology, and Mathematics- Meteorology. Thanks!
